Jim Whittle
Pastor

Jim and Shari Whittle moved to Douglasville in 2001.  We have 5 children – Matt, Josh, Alan, Alicia, and Becca.  Matt lives in Lithia Springs, Josh and his wife Kelsey live in Sandy Springs, Alan is in the U.S. Army and he and his wife are currently at Ft. Bragg. The girls are in high school at HCA.  We’re originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and met at Centre College in Danville, KY.  We married in August 1981 and moved to Atlanta for Shari to attend Emory’s Nursing School and Jim to attend Georgia Tech.  In 1984 we moved to Palm Bay, Florida for Jim to work at the Harris Corporation in the Aerospace industry while Shari practiced home healthcare.  It was there that we received our call to ministry and Jim left Engineering to work full-time at Covenant Presbyterian Church and attend Reformed Theological Seminary.  Upon graduation Jim was ordained in the PCA and in January 1993 we planted Northside Presbyterian 12 miles away in Melbourne.

Dave Shain
Director of Student Ministries

Dave Shain is thrilled to serve as the Youth Pastor & Director of Student Ministries here at CHPC. Prior to arriving in Douglasville, Dave served in youth ministry with refugees in St. Louis. At Covenant Theological Seminary, Dave received his Masters of Divinity. In college, he was a leader in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship with a fire for evangelism and assimilating new members. Dave and Jenny met during college in 1998 while serving in Ukraine. Dave returned to Ukraine in 1999 & again in 2001 to develop a youth group in Ukraine working with the PCA missions agency, "Mission To the World," before seminary. Dave's interests include cribbage, writing, discipleship, carpentry, hunting and fishing, Ukraine, and the Russian language.

Lisa Padgett

Secretary

Lisa has worked at Harvester Christian Academy since 1997 but she and her family have just recently become members of CHPC. But what did we do before the Padegtt family? Lisa is in charge of the day-to-day at the church office. She is also pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Liberty University.

Lisa is well-connected at HCA and PCA - she has worked for the two guys in charge and is married to the High School Principal - Eric Padgett! She's a loving mom of 3: Stephen, Byron, and Amber.

Jeff Prager

Pastoral Intern

Jeff and Kendall moved to Douglasville, GA from Maryville, TN in July 2007.
They have one child – Riley, who was born in May 2009.

Jeff teaches High School Bible at Harvester Christian Academy in addition to serving as the church’s Mission’s Coordinator and the College and Career Flock leader.

Jeff is a graduate of Covenant College and Covenant Theological Seminary.  He is currently seeking ordination within the Presbyterian Church in America.

Before transitioning into full-time motherhood, Kendall was also a teacher.  Both Jeff and Kendall have a passion for teaching others and desire to see Jesus Christ, His Kingdom, and the good news of Jesus’ saving grace proclaimed among the nations.

We love Douglasville and it is definitely God’s grace that brought us to Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.  Shari leads our women’s ministries and teaches part-time in our high school.  Jim coaches soccer for Douglas County Recreation.  We love the good news of the righteousness of Christ Jesus and would be happy to help you apply that gospel to any aspect of your life.  See you soon!

Interesting Fact: For the last 4 years, Jeff has been on staff with an archaeological dig based out of Covenant Theological Seminary.  During the summer of 2006, Jeff met his wife Kendall while on an excavation in the country of Jordan.

Jenny obtained her family & child studies degree with a minor in music and a masters in counseling. She is a professional life coach helping people reach their potential through their personal vision, mission, & purpose in life. Jenny served as the youth director at her former church. Jenny's favorite attribute of God is “creativity."
