Our Vision Knowing God and Making Him Known Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'" Our Mission CHPC is committed to 7 broad purposes that define our Mission :
Magnify God through Worship
To conduct Worship Services that give glory to God, strengthen believers, and proclaim truth to those who seek. John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. Our worship services combine the richness of our Reformed tradition and the best of our contemporary culture. We offer Children's Church during the sermon to serve the needs of families and children. We Celebrate Weekly Communion.
Involve One Another through Fellowship To establish and build relationships among the people at CHPC so that a sense of Belonging and Love permeates the Church . Romans 12:4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Every Wednesday night we have Family Night at CHPC with "Dinner for a Dollar" and then classes for all ages. There is also Women's Fellowship, Men's Breakfast, Youth Group, and other Fellowship Events.
Serve One Another through Ministry To care for each other's needs and to provide opportunity to participate in the ministries of the church, so that the body will be built up and unified. Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. The Family of God is diversely gifted and empowered for service. Whether it's serving in the Nursery, painting on a Saturday, or taking a meal to a sick friend; there are many service opportunities in the church. There's a place for you. School and Children's Ministry To prepare the next generation to be world-changers for Christ. Psalm 78:5 The Lord decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel , which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. Harvester Christian Academy and the other ministries of the church are designed to make CHPC multi-generational. We believe our chief mission is to our children! Instruct One Another through Discipleship To Equip and Train our people with the tools they need to grow in faith and maturity. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Sunday Sermons, Family Night, and Small Groups are the main ministries to support this purpose. In addition we have men and womens Discipleship and Special Classes to train people in finances, parenting, etc. Outreach through Evangelism and Missions To reach our community with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through Relational Evangelism; and to reach beyond our community through Church Planting and Missions. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new Matthew 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Our Living Proof Evangelism Training is the ministry to equip each member to personally share their faith in Christ. Family Night facilitates reaching into the community. Our Outreach Team helps us work together as a church as we welcome our Newcomers, and as we send and support Missionaries around the world, and as we hold Special Events to build bridges with our friends. Needs met through Mercy Ministry To involve our membership in meeting the challenges and mercy needs of our local community. Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'........ 40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Our Mercy Team organizes opportunities for CHPC to develop new community ministries and encourages involvement in existing ministries and individual mercy. |
